Pirates Of Panama

Pirates of Panama is an English rock band, formed in Bournemouth in 2011. Bringing their own style of hard hitting, ballsy punk rock and dirty glam metal, the Pirates have quickly gained a large fan base in places like the US and Germany as well as in the UK.

After starting out originally as a five piece, the Pirates have now found the perfect lineup, which consists of vocalist/bassist Louis Collins and guitarist Ed Van Egan.

After gigging relentlessly all around the local music scene in 2013, the band were ready to record and, over a period of three months, their self-produced and self-titled EP was recorded.

The debut EP pulls no punches. The opener and lead single (Bring You) Back Down, is a slab of hard hitting punchy metal, which continues through blistering punk infused tracks Smokeshow and Overdrive, before ending with the anthemic Raise A Glass.

Promotion of the EP was non-stop with the Pirates using social media, gigs and a radio appearance to get word of their debut out. A video for Smokeshow was also released in the early part of 2014, racking up YouTube views in no time.

But it’s live that the Pirates have really made their reputation. Their non-stop, energetic shows never fail to draw a large crowd. They have played various shows all around the south of England and they recently completed a mini-tour of Los Angeles, playing some of the most prestigious venues in the world at the Whiskey A-Go-Go and the House of Blues. bringing overwhelmingly positive responses from those in the audience. Pirates Of Panama will be appearing on UK national TV as well as a global online stream after a recent interview in Beverly Hills with a local tv crew during there last US tour.

In the summer of 2015, Pirates of Panama will be heading back into the studio and will also be playing various gigs all around the country. Pirates of Panama will also head back to LA for a month long tour.

Louis Lawrence Jack Collins, born 5th of October 1993, Bournemouth, England. Lead vocals and bass guitar for Pirates Of Panama. I became a musician at the age of 14 playing bass guitar. After developing my skills on bass I tried my hand at other instruments and singing. After playing the local pubs and clubs with a few small bands, An offer came to me in the form of 2 guys on the hunt for a singer of a glam punk style band, an offer I simply couldn’t refuse.
Growing up being a fan of the likes of Guns n Roses, Motley Crue and The Ramones this was the perfect opportunity to be a part of what I love. This band became Pirates Of Panama. We went from writing songs in a small room (which we still use) to playing the local music scene then honing and developing a set in which we felt confident enough to take overseas. We funded our own trip to the USA where we played a small tour of Hollywood CA and are honored and proud to have played critically acclaimed stages such as ‘house of blues (sunset)’ and the ‘Whisky A Go Go’. It’s safe to say I have never felt adrenaline like that before!
The band are now taking it up a notch and have exciting plans in the works that we can’t wait to share with the world as soon as possible and I feel more confident now than I ever have!

Ed, born 16th June 1991 Raised in Bournemouth England, I have always been around music taking early influence from my parents with artists such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young. I Picked up a guitar later than most at the age of 15, playing in bands as soon as I could strike a few power chords. My earliest influences were Blink 182 / Green Day, Guns N’ Roses and Bon Jovi. A year later I was studying a diploma in popular music and gigging the local scene in my first “Real Band “ I quickly became recognised and respected in my local music scene for my guitar playing ability / style and distinct image. Before founding the first incarnation of Pirates of Panama I played session guitar for several artists in different variety of genres such as dance and pop. Some of my session work has been presented to artists such as pitbull and his management team, up until our trip to Los Angeles in the summer for 2014 this was my personal achievement within music. I formed the first band in 2013 which later became Pirates Of Panama after a lack of musicians in the area who weren’t as committed as I was. I wanted to find like minded people, after several different names and member changes Pirates of panama was finally officially formed with myself and Louis. When I am not writing songs or jamming with the band I am normally always listening to some sort of music or watching some sort of sport! I have heavy input within our song writing and overall band sound and schedule, always bringing ideas to the table and being productive in anyway I can. I am the joker of the band, always playing a joke on the guys whenever possible.
